Infoglobo’s Kachar, Wall Street Journal’s Watford appointed to INMA Board of Directors

DALLAS (25 July 2017) – The International News Media Association (INMA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors:

  • Frederic Kachar, director general of Infoglobo in Brazil.
     
  • Suzi Watford, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of The Wall Street Journal.

The INMA Board of Directors is the non-profit association’s governing body, responsible for the strategy and direction of INMA worldwide. The 30-person INMA Board includes leading media executives from 16 countries on six continents.

Kachar joined Infoglobo in 1997 as a financial analyst, later serving as chief financial officer of Diário Popular and the company’s magazine division. Leading the magazine division’s turnaround, Kachar became its CEO in 2008. Seven years later, he also assumed leadership of the company’s newspaper division and now heads up Grupo Globo’s Print Media Division which publishes four newspapers and 15 magazines. Kachar served as the chairman of the Brazilian Association of Magazine Publishers between 2012 and 2016.

Watford has more than a decade of experience in the media industry, having served as sales and marketing director for The Times and The Sunday Times in the United Kingdom, where she led the move from subscription to membership. Also at News UK, she was responsible for partnerships and loyalty as well as brand extensions. Today, she is chief marketing officer and executive vice president of The Wall Street Journal, overseeing global sales and marketing as well as the conferences and events business and all digital revenue.
