FAQ

The practicalities of the INMA World Congress — all on one page

Additional Details & Information

What is the attire?

Dress for the INMA World Congress is business casual except the Awards Dinner at The Harvard Club which is black-tie optional.

What is the weather like in New York in May?

May is the best weather time of the year for New York, typically between 60°F (15°C) and 80°F (27°C). Rain can be a factor.

Will there be simultaneous interpretation?

The World Congress will be presented in English and will not be simultaneously interpreted. If there is sufficient demand for simultaneous interpretation, INMA will consider adding those languages.

Can you help me with international travel to the United States

INMA has put together a page that provides information on visa requirements, visa support letters, and information on embassies/consultates. Click here for more information.

How do I get to the Westin Hotel from the airport?

Three airports service New York (typical taxi fares to the Westin Hotel Times Square):

  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (US$45)
  • LaGuardia Airport (US$45)
  • Newark International Airport (US$80)

Transportation options range from shuttles to taxis to limos. We strongly recommend Uber. There is not a rental car facility at the Westin Hotel Times Square, but the concierge can assist you with nearby rental cars.

Can I bring my spouse or a guest to the World Congress?

Share your business trip to New York with a spouse or guest by registering them for the Welcome Reception at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Awards Dinner at The Harvard Club. Tickets may be purchased online, and it is strongly recommended to reserve a seat in advance for the Awards Dinner as a sellout is expected. Due to limited space at the conference space, only full Congress attendees can attend the sessions.

What does my registration fee include?

The main World Congress registration includes the Brainsnack Seminar at the TimesCenter and Welcome Reception at the Museum of Modern Art on Sunday and the plenary sessions at The TimesCenter on Monday and Tuesday, inclusive of breaks and lunches both days. The main World Congress registration also includes the Monday evening reception at The TimesCenter. The fee does not include the pre-Congress study tours or the Tuesday Awards Dinner at The Harvard Club. It does not include any post-Congress activities.
