INMA launches mobile/tablet blog for news publishers

Building on INMA's industry leadership position in the emerging mobile and tablet space, the association is pleased to announce the launch of the “Mobile and Tablets for Newsmedia Blog.”

The blog is co-authored by Mark Challinor, director of mobile for Telegraph Media Group in the United Kingdom, and Paulo Mira, president of Miami-based PHD Business Inc. in the United States.

As news increasingly goes mobile, the new INMA blog's mission is to be the worldwide reference guide to:

  • Growing and engaging news audiences via mobile devices and tablets.

  • Attracting mobile revenue via advertising, sponsorship, and subscriptions.

  • Owning the market for mobile news.

The INMA initiative marks the first newsmedia industry blog dedicated exclusively to covering the mobile/tablet space.

INMA releases tablet report, announces Apple-inspired Tablet Subscriptions Roundtable

INMA celebrates today's one-year anniversary of the iPad's unveiling with two bold new initiatives:

  • Tablet Opportunities for News Publishers: A 46-page digital publication exploring the tablet in the new multi-media ecosystem, devices beyond the iPad, evolutions and innovations in content architecture on the tablet, subscription versus advertising models, Apple as a business partner, consumer research on tablet use, and design and engagement.

  • Roundtable on Tablet Subscriptions: A just-in-time, invitation-only Roundtable February 17 at the Park Inn Hotel at London's Heathrow Airport analysing Apple's controversial new subscription plan, ways to work with Apple and this new plan, and alternative subscription models.
